Join CoastXP for an unforgettable journey along the stunning coastlines of Newcastle and Lake Macquarie. Encounter pods of resident dolphins, seabirds, long-nosed fur seals, and migrating humpback whales (May – Nov) as you cruise past iconic sights aboard CoastXP’s custom-built vessel, Atmos.
Distillery Tour, Tasting & Shared Lunch at Earp Distilling Co
Explore Newcastle’s premium spirit distillery, Earp Distilling Co. Discover the spirit lab and barrel hall, discuss the world botanicals and the unique Earp family history. You’ll learn about traditional vs modern distilling techniques, enjoying a rare behind-the-scenes look at an innovative Australian distillery.
Following the tour enjoy a relaxed, informative tasting of premium Earp Spirits accompanying a delectable seasonal shared lunch. An example for a group of two guests: Sourdough to start, followed by your choice of two small plates per person, or two small and one large share plate shared between two. For groups of more than two, a shared menu will be designed by the Earp Distilling Co team.

How does the booking process work?
Depending on what time of year you book, guests can either join the Adventure Tour (Nov – May) or Whale Encounter Tour (May – Nov) and during the booking process can opt to add the Lunch & Tasting Tour package to your booking.
Guests will select the day and time for the boat tour, and Earp Distilling Co bookings will be confirmed after the boat tour booking is made.
How close is the boat and distillery from each other?
This is a self-drive package. The boat tour departs from Honeysuckle Foreshore and the distillery is based in Carrington. These two locations are usually about 10-minutes apart, but we always allow enough time for you to get from one to the other.
Where should I park?
When boarding for the boat tour, CoastXP’s Newcastle tours depart from Harbour Square Boat Dock, along the Honeysuckle foreshore, directly out the front of Rydges Newcastle. Paid parking is available moments from the wharf itself.

Can children under the age of 18 join the tour?
Absolutely! Children under the age of 18 can participate in the boat tour, and while at the distillery, they can join in the tour & lunch portion (under the supervision of a parent or guardian). This package is specifically designed for 18+ as we must adhere to the responsible service of alcohol.
Our recommendation would be to purchase the package for the adults and a standalone boat tour ticket for those under 18. When at the distillery, you can always upgrade your shared lunch to include those under the age of 18.
